There have been various reports recently about quantum patents and the number of them for companies, countries, and regions.
Patents offer you freedom of action and sometimes revenue and negotiation advantages.
It’s not just the number of patents you have, it’s the quality.
If you have 100 low-quality patents that don’t apply to my work, and I have one patent that can shut you down, I win.
Make sure you have a very good intellectual property attorney. They are some of the smartest people around. I know several, for example, who have Ph.D.s in physics. Don’t hold that against them. 😀
